Choosing a wedding video package is easier when you know what each deliverable actually is. This guide breaks down the pieces of a cinematic package — highlight reel, teaser trailer, and full ceremony film — plus the coverage details that separate a good film from a forgettable one.

What "cinematic" actually means

A cinematic wedding film treats your day like a short movie: intentional camera movement, color grading, layered audio, and a narrative edit. It is not a raw recording of the ceremony — it is a crafted version of it, built to be rewatched.

The three core deliverables

1. Highlight reel (3–6 minutes)

The film most couples share. It weaves getting-ready, first look, ceremony vows, and reception speeches into a short story set to music. This is what family and friends actually watch end-to-end.

2. Teaser trailer (45–90 seconds)

A short, vertical-friendly cut delivered days after the wedding so you can share it while everyone is still talking about the event. Great for Instagram and WhatsApp status.

3. Full ceremony film (15–40 minutes)

An edited version of the full ceremony with clean audio from the officiant's mic, vows, ring exchange, and first kiss. This is the keepsake — the one grandparents rewatch.

What to check before you book

  • Coverage hours. 6 hours covers ceremony + reception highlights; 8–10 hours covers getting-ready through dance floor.
  • Number of shooters. Two operators means you get simultaneous angles on the vows and the first kiss — a huge quality difference.
  • Audio. Ask if the videographer uses lavalier mics on the officiant and groom plus a board feed at the reception. Bad audio ruins good video.
  • Drone footage. Confirm it is included and that the venue allows it. Not every location does.
  • Delivery time and format. 4–8 weeks is typical. Ask for 4K files and a private online gallery, not just a USB.
  • Music licensing. Reputable studios license their music (Musicbed, Artlist). Unlicensed tracks get films muted on Instagram.
  • Backups. Dual card recording and offsite backups are non-negotiable.
